19th Annual Mayors' Grand River Cleanup

Taking action to remove trash within your community will ensure a swimmable, drinkable, and fishable future for the waters we all share.

Help us pick up trash and protect our waterways in 6 West Michigan communities –East Grand Rapids, Grand Rapids, Grandville, Kentwood, Walker, and Wyoming.

The event starts on September 10th with a kickoff celebration and cleanup from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM on the Gillett Bridge in Downtown Grand Rapids - across from the Gerald R. Ford Museum (303 Pearl St., Grand Rapids, MI 49504). During the event, there will be speeches from the Mayors and WMEAC team followed by a cleanup along the Grand River. After, participants will return to the Gillett Bridge for food, music, and a beer garden (for those 21+ years of age with a valid ID). Don't miss out on the fun!

The full campaign will run from Saturday, September 10th through Saturday, September 17th, 2022. Groups and individuals have adopted locations throughout these communities to clean up during the week.
